My kids are counting the days left in their summer vacation! A few days to go and they're back to school. I know of a few moms who have started to ease their kids back into their regular school bedtime routine. My kids should thank me that I haven't resorted to anything that drastic yet.:) But I did make sure that to prepare everything that they need for school: new school supplies, new school shoes, new school uniform, school books all covered already... everything on my back-to-school checklist is done!

But I don't stop there, I also make sure that our home has the right tools to help my kids do well in school. While I want them to excel in their academics, they are also competitive swimmers.  And as such, a big chunk of their everyday after-school hours is taken up by their training time.  So the limited time that is alloted for studying is very precious.

I have one kid in high school, one in middle school, and one in grade school.  Often, they need to be online at some point to do research, or to collaborate with groupmates about a project, or prepare a digital presentation. I make sure that they maximize their study time by:

1. having a designated study area in our house so everything that is related to studying is done there, everything they need is also within reach so they don't waste time looking for it.

2.  ensuring that we have a family-sized strong and reliable internet connection at home.  Each of my kids have their own iPads which they use for studying and doing research. The simultaneous ONLINE use of the kids' multiple gadgets is made possible by PLDT HOME DSL.

Last Friday, PLDT Home DSL invited my whole family to the block screening of Maleficent at the Power Plant Cinema. My 2 girls have been looking forward to watching this movie, especially since Elle Fanning is in it.  Thanks PLDT Home DSL for giving us another family-sized connection before school starts.

Of course, everyone's favorite cutie, Diego, was also there with his family.

It was also a great time to catch up with Mish of Momma 'N Manila.  Although we see each other during SoMoms engagements and other blogging events, our interactions are mostly online.  So this is movie screening is another connection that PLDT Home DSL made possible.:)
