War Room Movie + DVD Giveaway

You know how it is when you have kids, and you're with them the whole day and you all had fun, but then the level of activity with your teens is just so hyper that by the end of the day even if you're so sleepy, you just want to stay awake just to get a piece of quiet all by your lonesome? Well that was me one night a few weeks ago..

C went out to meet with his men's group. I had all the time that night to do anything and everything without the kids or the husband. It's my ME-time! hahaha!

I spent the time watching War Room. My friend, Kaye, sent me a DVD of War Room a month ago pa ata. But I never had the time to watch it because having teens who want you to bring them around everywhere takes up all of my day this summer. 

War Room is the fifth movie from the Kendrick Brothers. They are the brothers behind the movies: Fire Proof and Courageous. I’ve watched their previous movies before, and I especially the values that both movies imparted.

I enjoyed and was immensely inspired by this movie. The movie follows the life of a struggling wife, mom and real estate agent named Elizabeth. The story finds her living a non-committal life; with her life divided into small parts to fit her child, her husband, her faith, her job. So it’s like giving half-hearted effort in so many aspects of her life, and then coming out empty-handed in the end.

I don’t think I’ve ever done a movie review before, but I’m going to attempt to do one now. I won’t be talking about the actors that portrayed the family, or how well it was directed. Instead, my movie review will be all about my take-aways and opinions.

1. Forgiveness is required in every relationship. We have to pray for a humble heart to be able to forgive a person who wronged us.

2. Change. There's a quote that says, "You can't change what's around you, until you start changing what's going on within you." Change always have to start with ourselves.

3. Prayer works wonders. Whenever I'm troubled about the kids, and I bother C about the things that are going around my head. He always asks me," Well if you're too troubled by it, did you pray about it yet?" He ALWAYS gives me Proverbs 16:33 "We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall."
