PLDT HOME's heyÜ

I just noticed that my kids are getting online more frequently to do research for homeworks and school projects. They are also often asking permission to go meet with group-mates for projects. For my own peace of mind, I prefer that they carry their own smart phone (of course, hand-me-downs lang of their dad's) so I can reach them anytime I want to get updates on their schedules and whereabouts.

When I saw that PLDT HOME introduced heyÜ, a locally designed communication app specifically created for the digitally active Filipino family to stay connected.  I knew that this is something worth looking into.
  • heyÜ uses the wide network of PLDT to ensure clear, quality, and consistent connections for its subscribers.
  • Voice calls to and from other heyÜ subscribers, and to all PLDT landlines nationwide are free and unlimited. heyÜ allows subscribers to FREE & Unlimited heyÜ to PLDT landlines nationwide (and vice versa)
  • heyÜ, a VoIP (voice-over-internet protocol) service which allows PLDT’s customers to stay even more connected with friends and family by letting existing subscribers link their telephone accounts and make calls through the internet at very low rates.
We are already existing subscribers of PLDT HOME DSL, and the fast and reliable internet connection have allowed my family to have all our gadgets connected to the internet simultaneously.  All I have to do to avail of the full suite of features—from free and unlimited voice and video calls to hilariously cute stickers— is to just pay P100/month. Sulit na, diba?

Say hello to fun new ways to connect with the family!
HeyÜ was created to address the various communication needs of every family member, everyone from mom and dad to the kids will find the app relevant, entertaining, and a whole lot of fun.

Mom can can use heyÜ to check up on the kids for free or she can catch up with friends and relatives abroad with the low IDD call rates of heyÜ. IDD calls or as low as P1.50/min. to U.S.A. Mainland, Canada & Hawaii.

Dad can easily make and receive calls from anywhere as long as there is an internet connection. The heyÜ app allows subscribers to:
- free & unlimited heyÜ to heyÜ calls

- free & unlimited heyÜ to PLDT landlines nationwide (and vice versa), even through an Android device, as long as the call is made from the heyÜ app.

Kuya and Ate can use the group chat feature to talk about anything from bonding plans with their barkada to their favorite shows.  heyÜ offers calls to Smart, Sun, and Talk n’ Text numbers for a minimum fee of PhP5.00 per minute, compared to the P14.00 per minute if you are to dial from your landline.

The young kids will definitely find the app most convenient when connecting with their parents and older siblings. In the heyÜ Sticker Market, subscribers can choose from a wide range of unique and quirky stickers and emojis to download. Audio stickers are also available for times when you want your stickers to say your messages for you.
***For just an additional P100/month, existing subscribers can get a heyÜ account and enjoy the above-mentioned features.

PLDT Home DSL

My kids are counting the days left in their summer vacation! A few days to go and they're back to school. I know of a few moms who have started to ease their kids back into their regular school bedtime routine. My kids should thank me that I haven't resorted to anything that drastic yet.:) But I did make sure that to prepare everything that they need for school: new school supplies, new school shoes, new school uniform, school books all covered already... everything on my back-to-school checklist is done!

But I don't stop there, I also make sure that our home has the right tools to help my kids do well in school. While I want them to excel in their academics, they are also competitive swimmers.  And as such, a big chunk of their everyday after-school hours is taken up by their training time.  So the limited time that is alloted for studying is very precious.

Weekend Footnotes

I look forward to posting my Weekend Footnotes because it is almost always full of food photos!  And this weekend is no different.

The mommy of one of B's good friends texted me last week if we wanted some fresh ramen noodles. Who says no to that, right?  So of course, I quickly told her that C and the kids are ramen fanatics!  She sent over a bagful of noodles.  She has been busy perfecting her fresh ramen noodles recipe because she has plans of supplying to the local ramen restaurants.

I immediately searched online for ramen broth recipe, and I found out that I do not have the pateince and the inclination to make the tonkotsu broth because it is so time-consuming.  I would just rather order this when we eat out.  I just settled for something that is easy to do, so miso ramen broth it is!

J helped me make the marinated soft boiled eggs, which you can see in the upper right in the photo below.

Weekend Footnotes

PLDT HOME DSL invited us to join them for the blocked screening of X-Men: Days of Future Past at the Shangri-La Mall last Friday.  The kids were so excited to watch the movie because the latest installment is said to be the best ever.  And to add even more to my kids' happiness, PLDT took care of their cinema bar food binge also.  Big thanks PLDT HOME DSL for making sure that we have family-sized connections both online and offline!

We went early and had dinner at Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen at the East Wing.

Saturday was spent by being very productive in the kitchen.  I made sure that everyone was kept busy with something. J made our lunch of Beef Tenderloin with Brocolli.  While I took the 2 kids with me and made them help me with making Spinach Artichoke and Spinach Mushroom Dip.  The Spinach Artichoke Dip is a special project of B - she wanted to make some to share with her friends.  While I made the |Spinach Mushroom Dip because I wanted to have something always on stand-by in the fridge for my hungry brood. The kids ate up the celery sticks without a word when I served them with some of the Spinach Dip. We still have some mangoes left and I decided to make some Mango Royale to be shared with friends.  Yes, none for the family this time. :)  But I did prepare Kani Salad with Mango for dinner.

On Sunday, the message of Pastor Peter was such a blessing, as usual.  Small problems, Big God.  If we encounter what is seemingly a big problem, then it is time for God to show us that He is ALWAYS bigger than any problem.  If you want to be blessed with his message, click on this link to listen to the service:  http://www.ccf.org.ph/videos/view/when-you-stumble-get-up-and-grow-up#.U4LEsfmSySo

We had lunch at Maple at Shangri-la Mall.
After what they ate, I couldn't believe they still have some more room for pancakes!

I am loving J's outfit from last weekend.  But too bad, I couldn't borrow her shoes! Her feet has grown so big that even with a cork, or socks, or even double socks.. they wouldn't fit me.. no matter how hard I try! hahaha! She is 3 sizes bigger than me! Boohoo!

Sunday late afternoon, we brought the kids to one of our favorite places, outdoors!!!  We realized that summer is about to end and we haven't had a single day of biking yet!  B took to the bike the whole afternoon, while R decided it would be fun to try to ride two scooters at once... to go faster daw!  kulit!:)

That was our weekend!  Hope you enjoyed yours.  Till the next one!

Have you ever seen this handsome and smart little boy?

His name is Diego Ledesma, and you’ve most probably seen him in PLDT HOME DSL’s TV commercial. Aside from being a total showstopper in the TV commercial, his other claim to fame is his advice column on Facebook, “Ask Diego”.
