Grocery Shopping at SYSU Food Hub + a GIVEAWAY

As a mom who prepares meals for my family everyday, it is just but natural that I spend a lot of time in the grocery. Personally, some days I love to go grocery shopping. I would go through aisles leisurely and see good deals on items on sale or discover new products I didn’t know about. During these times, I am also more willing to try new foods and recipes.

Other days, I just need to get in and out of the grocery immediately. Days like this, I stick to tried and tested products from brands  that I have used through the years. By sticking with the brand, I know the quality that I'll get each time.

My grocery haul during a recent visit to SYSU Food Hub

The SYSU Food Hub is one store that carries brands that are on my tried and tested list like Lee Kum Kee Chinese Sauces, McCormick spices, San Remo Pasta, Clara Ole sauces, La Espanola Olive Oil, Smuckers fruit jam, JIF Peanut Butter, Goober Peanut Butter, Tabasco Hot Sauce, among many others.

A few weeks ago, my friends and I visited SYSU Food Hub to do some grocery shopping together. I find it fun to do groceries with friends because I get to learn about their favorite grocery items and there are some discoveries that eventually make it to my own favorite list too.

The SYSU Food Hub was opened in late 2018 as a one-stop shop to showcase the brands carried by SYSU International under one roof. It is a retail store where consumer favorites and hard-to-find food products are sold. For generations, Sysu International Inc. has brought premium food brands to the market.

The SYSU Food Hub also boasts of a fully equipped modern kitchen that can be used for testing and demonstrating recipes using SYSU products. The goal is to be able to offer consumer recipes that they can use in their everyday lives.

Of course being wise homemakers, we all gravitated to the products on special offer and limited edition sets selling on a discount. Tuwang-tuwa kaming tatlo sa mga nabili namin on sale. I bought 2 packs of the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf drink (which was on 50% discount) which my entire family loved. I'm hoping they have that again on my next visit so I can stock up on it.

You can see more of the products on sale below. One of my best buys was getting the bundle of San Remo Linguini. Imagine I just paid P99 for 2 packs of 500 grams of pasta, (I only paid P45 for one 500 gram pack). I thought they were trying to dispose of because it was near-expiry already, but expiration is 2020, more than a year away! I also bought the Lee Kum Kee Premium Soy Sauce bundle, selling for P135 for a twin pack - 15% off its SRP.

They also accept orders for customized food baskets and wholesale purchases. You can go to the store to choose the items you want to go in your basket and they will prepare it for you. Perfect for holiday gifting, di ba?

We also saw a lot of hard-to-find products in the store.

There are some products which they sell here that are not readily available in groceries.

I stocked up on San Remo Gluten Free Pasta because the grocery I frequent does not carry this yet. 

Each 350g pack sells for P164, regardless of the variety -spaghetti, fettuccine, or fusilli.

I'm so happy to find San Remo Gluten Free Pasta because I used to buy GF pasta from the US pa. The ones sold here in a famous health store all taste really bad. I tried so many brands and I ended up throwing half of the package because my kids refused to eat them. But not so with San Remo. I cooked the entire 350 gram pack for my 3 kids for dinner and nothing is left. Inubos nilang tatlo, it was that good! It doesn't taste like it's gluten free daw.

Go give them a visit! I guarantee you your trip will be worth it.
